Rescuing and Adopting over 1800 Abandoned
Cats and Kittens since 2002
We are a no-kill, all-volunteer shelter and rescue organization dedicated
to saving the lives of abandoned cats and kittens in the Marco Island,
Florida area. We rely on the generous donations of the public for 100%
of our funding.
We need your help- please join our family at For the Love of Cats by
donating today so we can continue to help the abandoned and desperate
cats and kittens in our community. Your donation will help cats like
Tiffany.
Tiffany came to us in January this year. She was abandoned in the neighborhood-
her people just left her outside as they drove away. She was heartbroken,
frightened and soon was very hungry. One of our volunteers lives nearby
and feeds several outdoor cats at her house. These cats did not want
to share their precious food with Tiffany so they chased her away and
she was even more hungry. She tried to find a handout at several houses
in the area and unfortunately, someone she asks for help from kicked
her hard at the base of the tail and broke it. Poor Tiffany was now
in pain as well as being hungry, eaten by fleas and depressed because
somehow she was sure it was her fault that she had been thrown away.
We were so full at the shelter when our volunteer called but after
hearing that this sweet little girl had been brutilized and injured
made us put up temporary space for her. She loved her bath and was so
patient as we pulled the fleas from her. She had known love and despite
her horrible experience, she was willing to forgive humanity as she
purried in response to our attention.
Without donations from people like you, Tiffany would not have a wonderful
new loving home. 100% of your donation goes towards the rescue, care,
nurturing and adoption of cats and kittens that are suffering now more
than ever as a result of job losses and foreclosures.
Naomi is a 4 year old blue cream
female. She was abandoned and starving when we rescued her. She is one
of the smartest cats we have ever had at the shelter. She is amazing,
spunky, fun and full of energy. She must have been raised as an only
kitten because she does not know that she should not bite you and that
biting hurts. She just wants to play all the time and does not know
what being pet and loved is like. She is a princess and she is sure
she is in charge of the shelter! We are working on her behavior and
she is learning how to play with other cats and gaining social skills.
She gives great kisses, takes wonderful care of the baby kittens and
really wants to be a good kitty. She is spayed, tested, treated, up
to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $35.
