$10 will buy food for a week for one kitten

$25 will buy bedding and toys for a litter of kittens or medical supplies for the shelter

$35 will buy enough formula for a kitten that must be bottle fed due to illness or weakness

$50 will buy one humane trap or a well vet-visit

$100 will fund the neuter/spay and shots for a kitten

$175 will fund a complete shelter stay (rescue to adoption) for one healthy kitten - the numbers go up rapidly for sick kittens, or for kittens brought in soon after birth.

We are always in need of:

- Maxcat canned Kitten Food
- Cat Carriers
- Tidy Cat Clay Cat Litter
- Cat Toys

We also need Humane Traps-
(specifically Live Raccoon Animal Trap by Woodstream)

 

Donation Boxes

We are grateful to many local business on the island for allowing us to put a donation box on their counters. We currently have boxes at Sunshine Ace Hardware, Ace Hardware, Big Al’s Deli, Kays on the Beach, Marco Veterinary Hospital, Island Veterinary Clinic, Progressive Auto Care, Progressive Car Wash, Critter Café, Roberto's Coffee, Terry's Hair Salon and Discount Cigarettes. Please give generously at these locations.

Volunteer Opportunities

Shelter Volunteer
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, cleaning litter boxes, cages and shelter areas, washing, medicating, feeding and socialization of cats and kittens. We need people with love and patience to work with sometimes frightened cats and kittens.

Foster Care
Responsibilities include the care and feeding of very young kittens that may require 24 hour care for 2-6 weeks until they can be returned to the care of the shelter.

Feeding Cat Colonies
Responsibilites include a once a day changing/filling of bowls of food and water at a locations(s) around the island. Usuallly takes a hour or so in the early morning or evening.

Trapping Kittens and Feral Cats
Responsibilities include baiting and setting out traps at dusk and collecting them at dawn. Trapping is based on sightings with no set schedule.

Fundraising
Joining committees that plan, organize and execute fundraising events.

Special Events
Participate in public awareness and educational events.
